Halloween Tract: Children's version:

Many kids go trick-or-treating every Halloween to get lots of candy. Many people are also "tricked" into thinking they are good enough to go to Heaven. The real trick is knowing if you are good enough to go to Heaven. God gave us the ten commandments so we can see if we really are good enough. Have you ever lied? Have you always obeyed your parents? The Bible says if you hate someone, it's just like committing murder. Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you? Can you see the Ten Commandments are like a mirror, they show us how bad we are, and how we need to be clean before the Day of Judgment. That is the Day when God will punish people who have broken the Ten Commandments. They will be sent to a place called Hell - a place where God doesn't want people to go. God doesn't want you to be punished. He loves you so much that He made a way for you to be forgiven before Judgment Day. Even though we have broken the Ten Commandments, Jesus came down to earth and paid our fine for us by dying on the Cross. He took our punishment on Himself. Then He rose from the dead. That means that we don't have to be punished by God. We can live with Him forever in Heaven! It also shows us how much God loves us. So, what should you do? Ask God to forgive you for the Commandments you've broken (this is called "sin"), stop doing those things, and believe that Jesus Christ will save you on Judgment Day. When you do that, you will have God's promise that you are forgiven and will live forever with Him in Heaven.
