| Lucky Bucks Text: The four-leaf clover is said to bring "good luck." Legend says the four leaves represent faith, hope, love, and luck. However, the Bible mentions nothing about "luck." Instead, God is revealed as having perfect control over all things (Psalm 103:19). One day, you will stand before God in judgment (Hebrews 9:27). It will be either heaven or hell - no second chances. God gave us the Ten Commandments to show us how we really look in His eyes. Have you ever lied or stolen (even once)? If so, God sees you as a lying thief and you cannot enter heaven (Revelation 21:8, 1 Corinthians 6:10). If you look at someone with lust, you commit adultery in your heart (Matthew 5:28) and if you hate someone, God sees that as murder. (1 John 3:15) Since perfect obedience to God's standard is impossible, God made a way for you to be declared righteous. God the Son became a man in the person of Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life and met this perfect standard. He was nailed to the cross as a substitute on your behalf, taking God's full wrath and punishment you deserve. Then He rose from the grave, defeating death! You must repent and put your trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you (Acts 20:21, John 14:6) Repentance involves agreeing that what God says is true; He won't overlook the guilty, we are all sinners, and Christ has died for our sins. This will lead to genuine sorrow, shame and even hatred for what we have done. It was not "luck" that you received this gospel tract; it was a display of God's providence in bringing you the message of salvation. Please, get right with God today. You may not have tomorrow. |
